|

Hey there,
first of all, attitudetravel rocks! Especially the region oversights which list where airlines come from and fly to are a great tool.
I have some suggestions
I'm looking a lot on the Asia pages, so here goes:
-Mihin Lanka has not had a flight Schedule in the last 4 months. It shows up with it's old routes still on the sri lanka page
-Fly Yeti still lists on the Complete List of Asian Low Cost Airlines and on the middle east low cost airlines pages
-Mahan Air still lists on the Complete List of Asian Low Cost Airlines but does not seem to fly anymore
-Aer Lingus does not seem to fly to UAE anymore
-Jet Airways offers a 25% discount for people under 30 years old, making it in effect a low budget airline on some routes
-Gulf Air's fares are low budget on routes from europe to asia
-Norwegian does not seem to fly to the middle east (anymore?)
-Condor is throwing new tickets in sale in 5 hours
hope this is helpful! |

Hey, thanks for the feedback!
I'll offer a couple of snivelling excuses before I respond to your excellently helpful comments:
1) attitude Travel continues to develop at the painfully-slow glacial pace it has done since April 1997 and most of the site is still very much a work-in-progress. (Note the "Temporary" stamp above this version of the Low Cost Travel Cafe etc.) However, I stress, the site is coming together and thanks to huge leaps in behind-the-scenes organisation during the past year will begin coming together very much faster after September 1st, given that...
2) For the 12 months from Sept 2006 - Sept 2007 and for most of Spring and Summer 2008, instead of (sensibly) devoting as much time as possible to developing attitude Travel, making it more useful, more informative and more comprehensive, the majority of my time and attention has been alternatively taken up by my Masters Degree. (It's an MA in Post-Soviet Nationalism Studies at UCL SSEES in London - nothing to do with low cost travel, though tangentially connected with the part of the world I enjoy travelling to most often). My dissertation will finally be done and dusted and handed in on September 1st, after which point, get ready... you ain't seen nothin' yet.
3) Unfortunately, point 2) means that right now, with 20 days to go I am surrounded by towerblocks of dissertation notes and books, which means the site is being a little bit neglected. (I promise I will more than make up for this in September).
Right, that's enough snivelling excuses.

Many thanks! I can assure you there is a lot more to come.

Yep. A status update for Mihin Lanka is long overdue, thanks for the reminder - I'll bump it up the list of things to do.

I was hoping that Air Arabia might decide unexpectedly to revive this fledgling project, but you're right, it does seem to be mothballed for the mid-term. I've removed the outdated entries from:
Low Cost Airlines in Asia (by Airline)
Low Cost Airlines in Asia (by Country)
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East (by Airline)
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East (by Country)
| Quote: | | Mahan Air still lists on the Complete List of Asian Low Cost Airlines but does not seem to fly anymore |
Yes, you're right. Mahan Air's web presence appears to have disappeared entirely. I have removed the outdated entries from the following pages:
India Low Cost Airlines Guide
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East (by Airline)
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East (by Country)
Low Cost Airlines in Asia
Low Cost Airlines in Asia (by Airline)
Low Cost Airlines in Asia (by Country)
| Quote: | | Aer Lingus does not seem to fly to UAE anymore |
Well spotted - I wasn't aware that Aer Lingus had cancelled its Dubai route. I have deleted the outdated entries on:
UAE Low Cost Airlines Guide
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East (by Airline)
Low Cost Airlines in the Middle East (by Country)
| Quote: | | Jet Airways offers a 25% discount for people under 30 years old, making it in effect a low budget airline on some routes |
Thanks for that tip! I'll make a note a check it out properly, as soon as I get the chance.
| Quote: | | Norwegian does not seem to fly to the middle east (anymore?) |
Hmm... really? I just double checked and it looks like Norwegian is still flying routes both to Marrakech in Morocco and to Dubai in the UAE.
| Quote: | | Condor is throwing new tickets in sale in 5 hours |
The long-overdue revamp and reintroduction of the formerly very popular Special Offers on Low Cost Airlines in Europe will be just one of the features to look forward to on attitude Travel in Autumn 2008. |

I should add - and this goes for everyone - please keep the suggestions coming, if anything occurs to you.
Before the end of August I can't guarantee how quickly I will be able to respond, but from the start of September onwards, I should be able to get on the case as quickly as a Georgian missile launcher reversing out of South Ossetia. |

Good to see your on the case
Im flying from Poland in 2 weeks, so here is some more stuff for the Poland page
-Wizz Air offers an extensive network of routes across europe, its listed as only flying from central europe
-Ryan air flies to Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Spain from Poland, its listed as only UK
-Condor does only fly to destinations outside europe from Warsaw
-The link to Sterling goes to a SAS page in swedish without an english option
-Norwegian has an extensive network of routes across scandinavia and western europe, its listed as only flying from norway
-The direct fly link is dead
-Centralwings has routes from italy, spain, greece, portugal, UK and norway to poland
-Air Italy does not longer fly to Poland
-Air Lingus flies to New York from Warsaw
-The 25% discount on Jet Airways I mentioned is only valid for domestic flights within India
-Emirates is by far the best low-cost airline from europe to asia the coming weeks...only on returns though
good luck with your thesis, could I ask what your subject is about? |
