It seemed like Air Asia's two Singaporean rivals, Jetstar Asia and Tiger Airways got something of a raw deal earlier this year, when, under the bilateral agreement which took force in February 2008, the Malaysian low cost giant was allowed to fly to Singapore from anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia or East Malaysia, while the other two airlines were allowed to fly only to the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Apparently that will change now, according to Leong Wee Keat reporting for TodayOnline:
| Quote: | | Officials from Singapore and Malaysia agreed [...] to expand the bilateral air services agreement between the two countries. And budget airlines [ie. Tiger Airways and Jetstar Asia] will take to the skies next month between Singapore and the three East Malaysian cities [... Kuching, Miri and Kota Kinabalu] |
