| A new Spanish low-cost carrier, Andalus Líneas Aéreas, will be unveiled on May 30. It will use Málaga as its hub for direct flights to the Caribbean. Its staff are basically from the deceased Air Madrid which was one of the few LCCs offering affordable trans-Atlantic flights (to Latin America). |

Yes!
I read a piece about that this morning, here:
New low cost airline being set up in Malaga
I hope that Andalus Lineas Aereas proves to have a more robust business model than Air Madrid to the point where it can build on its initial flights to the Caribbean and start operating sustainable transatlantic low cost flights from Mediterranean Europe to Latin America. A bit of competition would do Air Comet some good.
I also hope that ALA survives longer than the last low cost carrier which tried to get off the ground in Andalucia. (Does anyone here still remember Air Andalucia?) _________________ Alan Lansdowne
