This will give Jetstar Pacific some much needed competition. (As will VietJetAir when it finally gets off the ground).
That said, according to recent reports out of Vietnam, Jetstar Pacific is not doing too well right now, even without much domestic competition to date.
| Quote: | | Unlike Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific’s General Director Luong Hoai Nam admitted that Jetstar Pacific is still incurring heavy losses, though it has been trying to adjust its operations. The air carrier has cancelled some air routes, while reducing flight frequencies on some other routes. [...] Jetstar Pacific is now also having problems with the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, which has asked the air carrier not to use the logo with “JET” and “Jetstar” with the star, as it may cause confusion with Australia’s Jetstar Airways. |
