VivaAerobus will start their first international flights from Monterrey and Cancun to Austin, Texas from May 1. The cheapest one way I could find was $94.99 for the Cancun route, and $54.99 for the Monterrey route, prices include tax & extras.
Monterrey is their hub, from here it's possible to fly with them all over Mexico, right down to Villahermosa near the Guatemalan border. They also have flights to Tijuana, on the border next to San Diego, California, and Ciudad Juaraz, opposite El Paso, Texas.

They also have some new domestic routes not updated to their route map yet:

So, does this make Viva Aerobus the first Mexican low cost airline to fly to the USA? _________________ Alan Lansdowne

| I think it does. Several "Low Cost" US airlines fly to Mexico, mainly Cancun, but none are particularly cheap. |
