|

A brand-new Bahrain-based budget airline will launch on January 17th, 2008.
Bahrain Air, billed as the "second National Carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain" will commence selling flights on December 16th, 2007.
The carrier will initally operate on the following four routes:
Bahrain to Dubai in the UAE
Bahrain to Mashhad in Iran
Bahrain to Beirut in Lebanon
Bahrain to Alexandria in Egypt
The airline ultimately intends to compete with UAE and Kuwait based rivals Air Arabia and Jazeera Airways in flying to destinations across the Middle East as well as to cities in North Africa and South Asia. _________________ Alan Lansdowne

Bahrain Air has announced some more intended routes, one month prior to its launch in January 2008.
The new low cost carrier will also fly:
Bahrain to Amman in Jordan
Bahrain to Damascus in Syria
Bahrain to Doha in Qatar
Bahrain to Khartoum in Sudan
Bahrain to Kuwait City in Kuwait
Bahrain to Sana'a in Yemen
Well, if they get all this right, this is really going to give Air Arabia and Jazeera Airways some competition!
No more flying low cost from Bahrain to Sharjah to Sana'a or from Bahrain to Kuwait to Damascus. _________________ Alan Lansdowne
