I am trying to find a bus from Rome to Pisa, but am unable to find an Italian website with this info. Apc your assistance.

A lot of private regional and inter-regional bus services operate up and down Italy, but it's trickier than you might initially imagine to find bus services which connect from Rome to Pisa.

Actually, it's so difficult, it almost defies belief.

After a lot of hunting around, I found that you can make the trip by bus if you change in Sienna which lies about two thirds of the way along the route from the Italian capital to Pisa.

Check out this itinerary:

Sena:
Departs Roma Stazione Tiburtina 12:30
Arrives Siena Colonna San Marco at 15:35
Cost: EUR 18

Train SPA:
Departs Siena P. Gramsci at 17:00
Arrives Pisa Airport at 19:00
Cost: EUR 14

(Yes, Train SPA is a bus company).

Even then, as you can see, you'll end up at Pisa Airport, so you'll need a third bus to get you from there to Pisa town centre. Thankfully there are frequent cheap buses running from the airport into the centre of Pisa, but it still seems like a very convoluted way to get to Pisa from Rome.

Of course, the above only applies if you are trying to travel from Rome to Pisa by bus.

Pisa is on the Roma-Genova mainline and so it's relatively simple - if slightly more expensive - to take a direct train from Rome to Pisa.

There are numerous trains every day, but here is one example starting at the same time as the itinerary in the last post:

Departs Roma Termini at 12:30
Arrives Firenze Santa Maria Novella at 14:06
Departs Firenze Santa Maria Novella at 14:27
Arrives Pisa Centrale at 15:31
Cost: EUR 39

As you can see, travelling from Rome to Pisa by train is about six euros more expensive than travelling by bus, but making the journey by rail is a lot faster and more convenient than trying to complete the journey by road-based public transport.
