I'm trying to find bus, train or plane travel from Girona, Spain to Freiburg, Germany.
I've checked several sites but can't seem to find anything.
Can you help me out, we are looking for travel at the end of March.
Thank you. |

Ryanair will fly you from Girona Airport in northeast Spain to Karlsruhe Baden-Baden Airport (Baden Airpark) in southwest Germany.
(Note that the Ryanair booking engine is currently offline, but will become available again on Tuesday, 26th February).
Once you have landed in Germany, you will find buses at Baden Airpark, operated by Hahn Express, which will take you to the railway station in nearby Baden-Baden. The journey time is approximately 15 minutes.
From Baden-Baden railway station, you can catch a fast train directly to Freiburg. There are trains every hour during the day, the journey time is about 45 minutes and a one-way ticket will cost EUR 26 if you travel on the Intercity Express (ICE) and EUR 21 if you travel on the Eurocity (EC). _________________ Alan Lansdowne

There“s another alternative ...
Flying on RYANAIR from Girona to Basel/Mulhouse.
From there you can go either by bus to Basel SBB and continue by train to Freiburg (local trains as well as ICE) or you take the direct shuttlebus from the airport to Freiburg operated by http://www.freiburger-reisedienst.de/?lang=en .
The latter one will be by far the cheapest solution and if schedule suits by far the fastest solution (compared to going via Karlsruhe airport or using the bus/train combo if flying to Basel/Mulhouse) |

Yep, flying into France and then crossing the border into Germany is definitely the smarter option in terms of saving money. I had forgotten Basel Mulhouse airport was so close to Freiburg - thanks for the reminder, MHG!
A one-way bus ticket on Freiburger Reisedienst from the Euroairport to Freiburg city centre will cost you EUR 19 per person and the journey takes about 50 minutes. _________________ Alan Lansdowne
