I'm looking for an Air Pass type tkt that I would pay up front for around 5 flights that I could book once I'm there. ...or at least change on the fly. does anyone know of something like this or have any recommendations on something similar?

...will be traveling through Asia (mainly SE) starting in early sept for a couple months. I have to be in the Philipinnes at a certain date for some volunteer work, but aside from that, I'd like to leave things wide open so I can make decisions on the fly.

thanks!

Check out the Cathay Pacific All Asia Pass - it's pretty close to what you're looking for.

Once you are in Asia, you are allowed to change the dates of flights you have booked before leaving home, though sadly, you won't have the option of planning your itinerary on the fly in the same way as you would with a Eurail Pass.

I'd advise just booking each flight online with one of the low cost carriers, it works out pretty cheap, and offers the greatest flexibility. These three cover most routes in SE Asia and are good value:

AirAsia
Tiger Airways
Cebu Pacific

There is a Visit ASEAN Airpass, which allows up to five flights, but I don't think it's particularly great value. Still, it does offer the benefit of flying with full service airlines, and may offer some different routes to the LCCs.

I'll add to Konangrit's list:

Jetstar Asia

It's not quite as cheap as the other three, most of the time, but it does offer routes to and from Singapore which Tiger Airways does not.
