No shortage of things to do and see in and around Budapest...

Buda
Walk (or take the funicular railway) up to the Castle District at the top of Castle Hill in Buda to catch some spectactular views of the Danube and of the Hungarian Parliament buildings on the opposite shore of the river.

There are a number of sights to keep you occupied in the Castle District including the Royal Palace and the Matthias Church, but try to resist the temptation to rush around, following a busy tourist itinerary - it's really pleasant just to spend half a day walking around the streets, taking in the ambience and the architecture and exploring on your own terms what doesn't get mentioned in the guidebooks. If I remember correctly there are some wine caves up there too...

Unsurprisingly, Castle Hill gets more coverage than any other part of Buda, but Gellert Hill further to the south has something to offer to, including the Rock Church a little way up the hill, carved into a natural cave and the Citadella at the top of the hill which has its own superb views up the river and across the city.

Hotel Gellert at the bottom of Gellert Hill is a perennial favourite.

I don't know what the precise regulations are with swimwear but I doubt they're going to make you wear someone else's speedos. (It's a well-respected hotel and bath complex which was opened in 1918 - I think it's unlikely they're going to make it like when you turn up to a Games lesson at school without the right kit and they make you wear some crusty old kit from the gym cupboard which someone forgot once). The first time I went to Gellert Baths in 2004, it was with a guy from Olympia, Washington and since he had turned up to the baths without any kit at all, he decided just to jump in the hot pool naked. This resulted in a few funny looks from some of the old locals but no-one said anything, even then. So I'm sure you will get away with your surf kit, yes.
